The Voice of a Nation
It saddens me deeply to acknowledge the passing of my father, Barrington Seymour Gordon known to the world as Barry G. His life and work is a profound achievement for Jamaica and the people of Jamaica. My father was more than a broadcaster; he was the voice of a nation, a man whose words, laughter, and rhythm shaped the pulse of our collective identity.
Once considered “The Voice of Jamaica,” Barry G and his friends were the architects of what we now know as Dancehall Reggae. In the wake of Bob Marley’s passing, when the world wondered what would become of Jamaican music, they carried the torch. They didn’t simply preserve the sound they reinvented it. From their love of community, rhythm, and truth emerged an entirely new genre, a movement that would echo across continents and generations.
His voice was not just heard, it was felt. It connected people, healed divides, and made the airwaves sing with joy, defiance, and pride. His legacy is woven into the very fabric of Jamaica’s cultural identity — a reminder that the power of sound, of voice, can move mountains and souls alike.
Though he may no longer walk among us, he lives on in every rhythm, every radio wave, every voice that dares to tell a story with truth and passion. We honor his life, his art, and his enduring impact on music, broadcasting, and culture.
Much love to our families, our friends, and all who were touched by his work and life. The music continues, the movement endures, and his legacy, our legacy, it lives on.
Rest easy, my father. Your life, your legacy, and movement lives forever. ❤️💛💚🖤🤍

Risk, Absorb, Curiosity, Resilience
Hanna Schonberg, founder and creative director of ARAKII, embodies the four forces that drive true creativity. She risks bold silhouettes that defy expectation, absorbs inspiration from every corner of life, approaches each design with unending curiosity, and moves forward with unwavering resilience.
At ARAKII, every piece begins in the sketchbook, a space where ideas are captured and transformed into wearable art. The Stockholm atelier brings these visions to life, with select collaborations across Europe and Asia. The result is clothing that commands attention while remaining minimal yet daring, precise yet unexpected, a perfect reflection of Hanna’s creative spirit.
To experience ARAKII is to witness creativity in motion and a reminder that risk, absorption, curiosity, and resilience are the very building blocks of genius. 🤓

Kelly Wearstler: Mastering Design in the Age of AI
Kelly Wearstler has always spoken deeply to my creative side. Her design aesthetic is bold, thoughtful, and unmistakably her own...a true mastery of design. Recently, I was struck by something she said about artificial intelligence: she asked, “Does AI have taste?” I can’t recall where I heard it, but the idea stayed with me.
What resonates is that Wearstler approaches AI not with intimidation, but with curiosity and collaboration. Her team embraces the tool with mastery, exploring its potential while remaining rooted in their own expertise. AI becomes a creative partner rather than a replacement, and the results are nothing short of awe-inspiring.
The Kelly Wearstler studio itself is a testament to this philosophy. A Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary team, they operate at the intersection of interior design, architecture, industrial design, and creative direction. Their approach thrives on dichotomies: history meets modernity, imagination meets discipline, refinement meets anomaly. By combining traditional craft with cutting-edge technologies including AI they push the boundaries of what design can be, creating work that enriches both the present and the future.
For anyone fascinated by the convergence of artistry and innovation, Kelly Wearstler’s work is a masterclass in embracing the new without losing the essence of your true craft.

The Soft Life, Chloé, and Chemena Kamali
Lately I’ve been declaring a soft life and a soft autumn, not just for myself, but for everyone. And if I ever needed a vision board to capture what I mean, the Chloé Winter 2025 collection is it.
Under the direction of Chemena Kamali, Chloé remains timeless. Kamali, who began her career at the Maison over 20 years ago, returned as Creative Director with a vision rooted in emotion, ease, and connection.
The collection reflects exactly that—a graceful embrace of softness, femininity, and strength. It feels like a meditation on slowing down, dressing with ease, and living with intention.
For me, it’s the perfect aesthetic reminder: the soft life isn’t just a mood, it’s a way of moving through the world.

The World of Charlotte Groeneveld
I won’t say too much here except that Charlotte Groeneveld is incredibly talented. What draws me in isn’t just her creative vision, but her thinking. She’s an amazing communicator with a way of sharing ideas that feels both effortless and profound. There’s something in her perspective I’d love to explore more deeply, but for now, let’s focus on her latest work.
Her collection with At Present is nothing short of stunning. Inspired by her Dutch roots, it’s more than jewelry it’s an ode to memory and feeling, a love letter to the familiar, and proof that the perfect piece can be timeless yet deeply personal.
Take a listen to the podcast alongside the collection, and you’ll begin to understand Charlotte not only as a brand, but as a person.

Phia: Smarter Shopping with AI
I talk a lot about AI, and honestly, very few people are building something that truly matters. One exception is Phia, the AI-powered shopping app by Sophia Kianni and Phoebe Gates.
Phia tackles a big question: should I buy this? By helping us shop secondhand and make smarter choices, it saves money, reduces waste, and strengthens the resale market. That shift could turn clothing into an asset and finally move us away from the damaging cycle of fast fashion.
Built on the idea that shopping shouldn’t force you to choose between your wallet and your wardrobe, Phia makes style sustainable and intentional. Smarter purchases, longer-lasting clothes, less impact on the planet.
The future of fashion isn’t just stylish it’s sustainable.

The Beautiful Mindset Behind Fashion
Fashion has a way of speaking to a deeply intuitive, creative part of me. It’s not just the models or the runways it’s the mindset behind every design, product, and campaign.
Erin Deering embodies that mindset. I’ve followed her for her humor, transparency, and industry insight, and watching her launch Deering has been inspiring. The designs are fashion-forward, the campaigns immaculate, and Erin remains entertaining, informative, and creative throughout it all.
Deering celebrates everyday dressing and getting dressed becomes an act of self-love, a joyful celebration of style.
Good clothes. Great energy. Tailored for today.
Wear it.

The Voice We Use
This very short video, three minutes long, the captures a snippet of the work of Charléne Delaville is soft in tone, gentle in tempo, almost unassuming at first. But by the end, you will find yourself in something deeper: a state of stillness, of reflection, of remembering.
What you’re witnessing is a “mini-session,” and that’s exactly what it will feel like. A door cracking open, revealing the quiet room inside yourself you haven’t visited in a while.
In a world built for constant performance, Charléne Delaville isn’t loud. She doesn’t demand. She doesn’t shout to be seen. She’s subtle. Hypnotic. Like a whisper, or a pause between the noise. When you feel it, really feel it, it’s undeniable. Transformative, even in three minutes.

Self-Love
Self-awareness and healing are lifelong journeys, and few books offer as profound a guide as The Origins of You by Vienna Pharaon. This insightful book delves into how our past shapes our present, offering practical tools for breaking generational cycles and embracing self-love.
One of the most powerful takeaways from The Origins of You is its ability to help readers recognize and accept imperfections—not just within themselves, but within their families and relationships. It provides a framework for understanding wounds, processing emotions, and fostering deeper connections with loved ones.
For parents, this book is especially impactful. It offers valuable perspectives on how our own experiences influence the way we nurture and support our children. By acknowledging and healing from the past, we can show up more fully for them in the present—offering love, understanding, and a space for growth.
Whether you’re on a personal journey of self-discovery or looking to strengthen your relationships, The Origins of You is a must-read. Its wisdom will stay with you long after you turn the final page, equipping you with the tools to heal, grow, and love more deeply.
It will be one of my most recommended books of all time.💪🏾

The Conversation
Who else but Sinéad Bovell would grace the cover of 3 Magazine to discuss the infinite possibilities of artificial intelligence?
The remarkable thing here isn’t 3 Magazine—though this introduction may warrant me taking a closer look at their work.
What’s truly beautiful is Sinéad’s consistency and commitment to her vision: ensuring that as many diverse voices as possible are part of the conversation.
Now, this may surprise some of you—those who don’t know me well. But for those who do, it won’t come as a shock. As an introverted individual, what excites me most is the conversation. Without it, any encounter might as well be transactional—or better yet, not happen at all. It’s like eating fast food. Nobody wants to eat that. I like to sit down, savor a delicious meal, and take my time. Even when I go to a restaurant, I prefer places with extremely slow service—the kind that gives us enough time to truly talk. Service so slow it’s borderline uncomfortable, where we’re on the verge of leaving. Or, conversely, so slow that it allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the moment, cementing our time together.
Conversation is a beautiful thing, and Sinéad invites us into one. She welcomes us all to explore the infinite possibilities of artificial intelligence—a future where humans will have nothing but time to truly get to know each other, through conversations and more. 🥂

Whether we’re getting dressed or undressed, no matter the occasion, clothing plays a huge role in our lives. And Mary Furtas? She’s also a whole vibe.
Cultnaked isn’t just fashion, it’s a movement, a rebellion against disposable clothing and uninspired design. Mixtape
Those who know me know that music is a huge part of my life. There’s nothing I do without a great playlist serving as the soundtrack to the moment. Even my morning routine has a specially curated playlist to keep me mindful and in a place of gratitude as I start each day.
So, it’s only fitting that we kick things off with a sultry mixtape curated by Elin Warn. She’s a vibe—so it’s our vibe until it’s next updated. It’s sultry, it’s soulful, and it’s filled with jams for a perfect WHUTEVER. 🍽️

Vision Boards:
When I began this journey, personal wealth and lifestyle were not my priorities. I’ve always been a content person with an uncanny ability to create what I consider an opulent lifestyle, regardless of my circumstances. No matter where I’ve found myself—even in the most unlikely situations and places—I’ve effortlessly shaped my environment to reflect a way of life that aligns with my sense of opulence. It’s almost second nature to me. This is where intangible qualities, such as taste, come into play. But I digress.
As my journey progressed, I didn’t just refine my vision—I had to refine how to execute it. The realities of laws, rights, and circumstances required me to structure myself and my endeavors in a way that ensures this vision comes to fruition. Oddly enough, it’s not just the laws and regulations that shape my approach—it’s also the people I encounter. The way they perceive me. The way they perceive life, and business. The way they respond to the vision—it all left me no choice but to adjust my execution accordingly. It’s unfortunate, but also inevitable, because, as I said, my natural inclination is toward the very people and places that others forced me towards—only to find out that now they want to push me away from them.
So it doesn’t bother me, and it certainly costs me nothing to embrace these corners of the world and their inhabitants—because, in many ways, they are my people. Others can hate if they choose, but they should also apply the same standards and rules they want to apply to me to themselves, especially those who preach about “grace” and “judgment-free zones.” Ironically, it is those who don’t even believe in a higher power who have joined the religious and they’re all praying for my downfall. But I have a choice—I can focus on them, or I can focus on myself. And since I have no intention of stopping, and there’s nowhere for me to fall, I am focused. 🆙
With this in mind, I decided to launch Beautiful Things—a blog that serves as a vision board of sorts. I’m not usually one for vision boards; I’ve made them in the past, but I typically rely on my internal vision. I pull from the depths of the vastness within me, visualize it, and then move step by step, patiently watching as it materializes in my reality.
So why this particular vision? Because I am bringing it forth from within, watching it take shape before my eyes. Picture this: convoys of G-Wagons racing to far-off estates, filled with my beautiful friends who can’t wait to unwind from a days work—work that is actively bringing an end to the climate crisis and building a sustainable future for all of us. Because there is only one thing we dream about and we are going to spend our entire day basking in our chosen version of opulence living our dream and eating the very best from all around the world! 🌎 🌍 🌏🗺️ 🏁
P.S. I once met with an attorney to handle some legal matters, and he said to me, “Jameel, there’s nothing wrong with the way you think, but you have to understand how the world thinks.” I will always remember that advice because it has continued to save my life ever since.
